Frogs : ------- Update ------- A big THANK YOU to the folks on the MDHerps listserve who identified these amphibians for me. The first one is an American Toad and the second one is a Bullfrog. So I was wrong with my ID's on both counts. Oh well, that's why I asked for help. ----- My original request ----- I like herps but I'm terrrible at identifying them. These frogs were photographed at Western Regional Park in Howard County, Maryland. I believe the first one is a bullfrog - is that correct? The photo was taken on 11-Apr-2008. I believe the second one is a green frog - is that correct? The photo was taken on 12-Aug-2006.

Fledgling bird : This young bird was photographed June 21, 2008 at Western Regional Park in Howard County, Maryland. It was recently fledged and barely able to fly. Any ideas what species it is? It's a small bird - about the size of a small sparrow such as a Chipping Sparrow. The habitat was edge of deciduous woods, with dense brush at the edge. There was a small pond very near by.
